Bonds would pay for new elementary school in Weirton, W.Va.

Voters in the Hancock County (W.Va.) school district will go to the polls Nov. 2 to decide the fate of a $37 million bond proposal. If the question is approved the state’s School Building Authority will contribute $19 million and enable the district to build a new elementary school in Weirton to replace three existing elementary schools located in Weirton and to upgrade and modernize the six other schools.
