Harvard cuts dining hall food waste

From Sustainability at Harvard: Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., reports that food waste in its dining halls has decreased by 56.5 percent since 2005. Based on a food waste audit in October, the average annual food waste in a Harvard dining hall was 196,786 pounds in fall 2011 compared with 452,795 pounds in spring 2005.
