Transportation cuts will save $5.5 million, but will affect 2,400 students

From The Maui News: Some Hawaii lawmakers want the state Department of Education to reconsider school bus cuts that will affect nearly 2,400 students statewide. Hawaii's statewide school district says the 103 route eliminations and consolidations are necessary in light of a $17 million shortfall for student transportation. The cuts will save about $5.5 million.
