Austin board reimburses superintendent $6,200 for hearing aids

Austin (Texas) school Superintendent Pat Forgione has received a $6,200 reimbursement from the school district for hearing aids, as is allowed under a 2006 amendment to his contract. Although it's common for superintendents to receive benefits including cell phone allowances and extra retirement benefits, the hearing aid benefit is unusual, says the Texas Association of School Boards.
