Excessive salary at school for disabled students may force layoffs

From The New York Times: The image of the Henry Viscardi School, a school for students with disabilities in Albertson, N.Y., has gone from outstanding to disreputable. Cortez, the chief executive officer. And after the state demanded the money be returned, the school announced that nine staff members would be laid off or have their hours cut — partly because of the disallowed salary expenditures.
