Freshman was shot in the back outside Hubbard High School

A 15-year-old student was shot and seriously wounded Tuesday afternoon as he left Hubbard High School on Chicago's Southwest Side after taking an exam. The boy, a freshman, was walking near the rear of the school when he was shot in the back, He was taken in serious to critical condition to an area hospital. School had been let out early, around 12:45 p.m., because of final exams, and the boy was shot around 1 p.m., a school district spokeswoman says.
