From The Los Angeles Times: Around 50 percent of teachers in Los Angeles charter middle and high schools left their jobs each year over a six-year period studied by University of California, Berkeley, researchers. L.A. Unified has more charter schools than any other school system in the nation, accounting for up to 10.5 percent of enrollment and growing

News release: Teachers in Los Angeles Unified School District’s charter schools are up to three times more likely to leave their school at year’s end compared with their peers elsewhere in the district, according to a University of California, Berkeley, report. The study tracked teacher movement within the nation’s second-largest school district over seven years, during which the number of Los Angeles charter schools climbed from 53 to 157 campuses.
