Higher education needs complete restructuring, college official says

From The New York Times: Mark C. Taylor, the chairman of the religion department at Columbia University, says most graduate programs in American universities produce a product for which there is no market and develop skills for which there is diminishing demand, all at a rapidly rising cost. He argues that for American higher education to thrive in the 21st century, colleges and universities must be rigorously regulated and completely restructured.
