Middle schools planned in Higley (Ariz.) district

From The Arizona Republic: The Higley (Ariz.) Unified School District is planning to build its first two middle schools. The district is running out of space at its existing eight K-8 schools, and officials expect to add more than 600 students annually for the next several years. But with no money from the Arizona School Facilities Board to build a school, Higley had to find other options for getting the middle schools built. A ballot initiative that Higley voters approved this month allows the district to enter leases longer than five years, which gives Higley the authority to enter a lease/leaseback agreement for the buildings.
