From The New York Times: Hofstra University is about to begin accepting applications for its new medical school, set to open in August 2011. It is New York State’s first new allopathic medical school (meaning a traditional medical school, as distinct from osteopathic and homeopathic schools) since 1963. The school, which is based on Hofstra’s campus in Uniondale, has been in the works since 2007.
