Districts await funding decisions in Massaschusetts

John F. Kennedy Middle School in Hudson, Mass., is one of about 80 schools that the Massachusetts School Building Authority identified in November as potentially deserving state cash to help pay for renovation or replacement. Since then, Hudson school officials have been frustrated by the slow pace of the state's deliberations. MSBA officials say Hudson will know by the end of the month whether the district needs to update a 2005 study that called for the JFK school, built in 1964, to be demolished and replaced. The 2005 study envisioned the state reimbursing 60 percent of the estimated $28 million cost.
