Louisiana district plans October bond election

From The Lafayette Advertiser: The Iberia Parish (La.) district has won approval of a $60 million bond proposal.  The funds will be used to build two new schools to replace some of the oldest buildings in the parish, to bring new technology into the schools, and to place cameras on all parish school buses.

JUNE 2009...from The Daily Iberian: The Iberia Parish (La.) School Board has approved putting a $60 million bond issue before voters on Oct. 17. The proposed projects include the merging of two elementary schools and the possible construction of a new elementary school near anticipated growth in the northern part of the parish. Bond funds also would be available for technology upgrades, security improvements and renovations of existing facilities.
