Illinois city nixes college expansion

McHenry College wanted to build health center, baseball stadium in Crystal Lake.

The Crystal Lake (Ill.) City Council has rejected the ambitious expansion plans of McHenry County College. The new athletic facilities would free up space in existing buildings for the college's nursing program. The project could be revived if college officials can allay concerns about traffic congestion and a possible impact on water quality.
