Illinois district wants to build school outside its boundaries

New Lenox district's school would be in the Union district, which objects to plans.

The New Lenox (Ill.) School District wants to build a school on donated land that sits just outside of its boundaries. The school site sits within the borders of the Union school district, in the middle of the planned 473-acre Eagle Ridge Estates. Union district officials object to the site, saying it would take 18 acres from their tax rolls and may create confusion for families who live across the street from it but won't be able to attend school there.
