Funding gap between rich and poor districts persists in Illinois

From The Chicago Tribune: In Illinois, wealthy school districts still spend up to three times as much per student as poor districts, according to state data. The spending figures come as no surprise to activists who have complained for decades about inequities in educational funding. The gap in +spending between rich and poor districts is no narrower than it was 10 years ago. In both 2002 and 2011, the 10 poorest schools on average spent 30 percent of what the 10 richest schools spent on average to educate each student, according to the analysis.
