Interim superintendent in North East (Texas) district gets full appointment

Brian Gottardy gets contract to lead San Antonio-based district

From The San Antonio Express-News: The North East (Texas) school board has officially appointed Brian Gottardy as district superintendent. Gottardy, 49, was named interim superintendent in February after Superintendent Richard Middleton announced his retirement. The district, based in San Antonio, has an enrollment of about 67,000 students and employs nearly 9,000 people. Gottardy will receive an annual base salary of $260,000. Middleton's salary was $296,105.
