For the 1st time in 16 years, public school enrollment rises in Iowa

From The Des Moines Register: The number of students in Iowa’s public schools has increased for the first time since 1996. A state report says enrollment in 2012-13 inched upward by 2,741 students, or 0.6 percent, compared with the 2011-12 school year. A total of 476,245 students are enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade in Iowa public schools this year.
