Islamic school buys space in West Warwick, R.I.

Former Catholic school will become permanent home for Islamic School of Rhode Island

TheIslamic School of Rhode Island has bought a former Catholic school and adjacent gymnasium building in West Warwick for $750,000. The facility will serve as an Islamic elementary and middle school. The Islamic school had been renting space from Sacred Heart Church for the last five years, but last month was able to buy the facility—a two-story building with 17,000 square feet of floor space, and a 5,000-square-foot gymnasium building.
