Former Indianapolis hospital now home to community college

Jan 20, 2012 2:07 PM

News release: Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis has expanded into a 100-year-old building that once housed St. Vincent Hospital. The facility, which ceased being a hospital is 2003, now is the 211,650-square-foot Illinois Fall Creek Center. It has 29 classrooms, eight science labs, four computer labs and six study rooms. An architectural and cost study determined that although it was possible to renovate the entire building, it was not the most cost effective option. The college decided to preserve and restore the front facade of the building and construct new spaces.
