Detroit charter will be named for NBA player

From The Detroit Free Press: A new Detroit charter school will open next year bearing the name of district alumnus and former NBA player Jalen Rose. The Skillman Foundation says the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy will be one of four high schools that will be part of the Accelerator program supported by Michigan Future Schools. It is also part of a plan to open 70 schools to combat the public school district's 59% graduation rate.
