Earlier....from The Kansas City Star: A broken heating and cooling system at John Diemer Elementary School in Overland Park, Kan., could prompt the Shawnee Mission District to close the campus. District operation and maintenance personnel discovered the problem late last week, and have no money budgeted to fix it. Administrators must decide whether to find the $200,000 or so needed for the repairs or move students from Diemer into Trailwood Elementary for the 2011-12 year.
