Change order in Joplin (Mo.) district will make auditorium stages more accessible

From The Joplin Globe: The Joplin (Mo.) school district is altering construction plans for two middle schools so that the schools' auditorium stages are more accessible to those with disabilities. The original plans for North and East middle schools called for the ramps to be behind the stage, but that would have meant that a person with disabilities would have had to walk around the building, go through a classroom and come from behind the curtain to get on stage. The design changes will place the ramps at the front of the auditorium’s stages. The architect is Patterson Latimer Jones Brannon Denham.
