Sly James informs state education commissioner that he seeks mayoral takeover

From The Kansas City Star: Kansas City, Mo., Mayor Sly James says he wants the mayor's office to assume control of the Kansas City School District. In a letter to Missouri Education Commissioner Chris Nicastro, James proposes a series of action steps, some of which would require legislative approval that would lead to mayoral control of the district.
