Kansas district OKs $29.9 million bond

Piper district to get new elementary and expanded high school

The Piper (Kan.) district has won voter approval of a $29.9 million bond proposal. The money will be used to pay for a $16 million elementary school and a $10.4 million expansion plan at Piper High School. Another $2.5 million will go for high school renovations; and $1 million will be used for district technology and security improvements.

The school board has not set a date for an election, but it has approved a facilities committee recommendation for a $29 million package.
