Kansas district sells closed middle school for $4.3 million

From The Kansas City Star: The Shawnee Mission (Kan.) School District has approved the sale of the recently closed Mission Valley Middle School in Prairie Village to a development group for $4.35 million. The property had been appraised at $3.2 million. The school, built in 1958, was closed at the end of this academic year for budgetary reasons. District officials have said they expect that the building will be razed to make way for redevelopment.
