Kentucky renews search for new education commissioner

Selected candidate backs away from job just days before she was to start.

The Kentucky Board of Education has decided to start an immediate search for an interim education commissioner after its choice for education commissioner, Barbara Erwin withdrew from the position just days before her first formal day on the job. Erwin was hired in May despite questions about errors on her resume and criticism of her leadership in past districts. This week an investigation continues into her missing personnel file from her previous job in the St. Charles (Ill.) Community Unit District 303.
