From The Cincinnati Enquirer: Michael Brandt, superintendent of the Newport (Ky.) Independent School District, is violation of Kentucky law because he lives in Ohio. The Commonwealth of Kentucky Court of Appeals, has upheld a 2008 lower court ruling upholding a law that requires superintendents to establish residency in Kentucky. Newport hired Brandt, former superintendent of Cincinnati Public Schools, in 2004. District officials say they were unaware at the time of the residency requirement. Brandt's home in Cincinnati is 12 minutes away from his office in Newport, Brandt says.
