New Lake Bluff, Ill., elementary will incorporate green design

The Lake Bluff (Ill.) Elementary school district is building a new Central Elementary School. The $19 million project will replace the existing Central school. The district has received a $100,000 grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation to pursue LEED certification, and when the school is opened it 2009, the district hopes the facility will achieve a silver rating for environmentally friendly design. The architect is BLDD Design.
