From The Wilmington News Journal: Laurel (Del.) voters have rejected a $35 million bond that would have paid for the local share of a districtwide school rebuilding plan. The $137 million plan called for demolishing the high school and building a large campus with the high school in one wing and the middle school in the other. The two schools would have shared an 800-seat auditorium. The district's two elementary schools would have been abandoned -- one demolished, one turned over to a nonprofit or community organization. Students would have been moved into a single elementary complex.
