L.A. school district in line for $94 million in water-overcharging case

A judge has ruled that the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power intentionally overcharged other government agencies for electricity for nearly two decades, and owes them more than $200 million. The Los Angeles Unified School District would be the largest beneficiary of the ruling if it stands — garnering $94.7 million. But the decision could have serious budget implications for the city of Los Angeles.
