Lead-contaminated soil removed from 3 Missouri schools

EPA replaces soil at campuses in Farmington, Mo.

News release: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's efforts to remove lead-contaminated soils at three schools in St. Francois County, Mo., are nearing completion. The EPA says replacement of the soil should be completed by the end of the week at Jefferson Elementary School, W.L. Johns Early Childhood, and Truman Kindergarten, all in Farmington, Mo. The campuses are among several schools in the county where the EPA found elevated levels of lead in soils.
