Middle school is first in Virginia to get LEED gold

News release: Locust Grove Middle School in Locust Grove, Va., has becomethe first middle school in the state to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification for its environmentally sensitive design. The Orange County district built the two-story, 168,300-square-foot facility with spaces dedicated to special education and music, as well as general classrooms, science laboratories, a library, a commons area with stage, athletic gyms, locker rooms, kitchen, and administration offices. The architect is Moseley Architects.
