Audit finds fault with L.A. district's handling of teacher misconduct

From The Los Angeles Daily News: A state audit has found that systematic problems within the Los Angeles Unified District resulted in its failure to report teacher misconduct to the state credentialing agency and costly delays in investigating and disciplining abusive teachers, The eight-month review by California Auditor Elaine Howle identified serious lapses in district procedures. The audit was ordered by the Joint Legislative Audit Committee after allegations that the district had mishandled sexual-abuse cases involving teachers at two district schools.
