Aging sewer line at Louisiana State University needs replacement

From The Baton Rouge Advocate: Louisiana State University's facility development director says the aging main sewer line is a ticking time bomb beneath the university’s Baton Rouge campus. Replacing the 60-year-old sewer line is LSU's No. 1 priority project — listed as an emergency — on its state construction wish list. The project will cost $4.3 million, but the state has few available construction dollars for new projects and LSU officials realize funds are unlikely to be allocated any time soon. There are no student fees for such a project, nor are there any alumni clamoring to give donations to fix sewer. They prefer to donate funds to new buildings and athletics
