Oregon district decides not to seek bond approval

The Lowell (Ore.) School Board has rejected the recommendation of a facilities committee and will not place an $11 million bond measure on the November ballot. The money would have been used to pay a new K-12 school. A facilities committee appointed last year had recommended seeking a referendum to to address inadequate conditions in the district’s 75-year-old high school and 65-year-old elementary school.
