In Baltimore, Loyola goes from "college" to "university"

From The Baltimore Sun: In Baltimore, Loyola will celebrate its official change from a "college" to a "university" Friday, a move designed to attract prospective students who want more than a cozy liberal arts experience. President Brian F. Linnane says the "college" designation no longer fits Loyola, given its programs in engineering, business, computer science and speech language pathology. Loyola officials aren't seeking to change their institution's character, but they're hoping the "university" tag will give high-schoolers a better idea of what it has to offer. Some alumni are disappointed with the change, noting that Loyola will now seem less distinct from Loyola University in New Orleans and Loyola University in Chicago.
