Louisiana colleges tally hurricane damage

The Louisiana State University system is reporting about $27 million in damage from Hurricane Gustav while other college campuses statewide have tallied many millions more in costs that are growing each day. Southern University in Baton Rouge, La., is reporting $16 million, but that rises to about $18 million when its law center and agricultural center are factored in.

EARLIER: Louisiana State University’s campus in Baton Rouge came to a standstill in the aftermath of Hurricane Gustav. Tiger Stadium was damaged, along with the roofs on the Carl Maddox Field House and the LSU Natatorium. Part of the roof of the new softball complex was ripped off.
