The Lucy School in Myersville, Pa., is adding a 6,000 square-foot building. The $1.5 million, 6,000 square-foot facility will use solar panels to generate electricity, and geothermal heating and cooling, a roof garden and cork flooring. It will have classroom space for 60 children in first and second grades, a multi-purpose room, an art room and a music room. School officials are seeking a platinum LEED rating from the United States Green Building Council. The architects are George Harne and Re:Vision Architecture.
