Facility consolidation plan draws opposition in Ohio district

From The Columbus Dispatch: A ballot proposal that seeks to unite students in the Madison-Plains (Ohio) district in one building has divided the
community. Some residents in the Madison County village of Mount Sterling are unhappy with the site the district chose for a proposed 186,000-square-foot K-12 building.
A $24.9 million bond issue for the project will appear on the November
ballot. The plan is to close the district's three elementary schools
and combine the district's 1,400
students into one new building. That would mean a 17-mile bus ride for
children living in Mount Sterling.
