Maine governor signs law that allows charter schools

The state is the 41st to adopt the education reform measure

From The Bangor Daily News: Maine Gov. Paul LePage has signed a bill that makes the state the 41st to allow the creation of charter schools. The law calls for the creation of a charter commission that will have the power to approve up to 10 charter schools in Maine over the next 10 years. In addition, a local school district can opt to convert one of its campuses to a charter school.
