State may move to revoke charter for Gloucester Community Arts Charter School

From The Boston Globe: The Gloucester Community Arts Charter School in Gloucester, Mass., has opened its doors even though Massachusetts Education Commissioner Mitchell Chester does not believe the school is viable. The school was holding its first day of classes today for 85 to 90 students are enrolled in grades 4 through 7. Chester has told school officials that issues surrounding enrollment, contracting compliance, and staffing changes will compel him to convene a special meeting to possibly revoke the school’s charter.
