Budget plan seeks $368 million in additional education funds

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick plans to unveil a budget next week that would increase spending on education by $368 million. Despite a $1.3 billion gap in a roughly $28 billion budget, Patrick is seeking to make education his administration's top priority. His plan would include an additional $223 million for local communities to use for education, a 6 percent increase over this year.
