District to look at criteria for shuttering campuses

A controversial proposal to close 11 under-capacity schools will come back to the Miami-Dade School Board. The district's first attempt at closing schools earlier this year angered hundreds of parents, leading Superintendent Rudy Crew to shelve the proposal. Now, with the district's financial outlook worsening, the district administration will approach the issue differently: Crew will recommend choosing the criteria for ''repurposing'' first and choose the schools later.
