Aug. 20, 2008
The Bicentennial Student Center would be the university's first student center

Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, is in the planning stages for its first student center. The school will knock down three academic buildings -- Gaskill Hall, Rowan Hall and Culler Hall -- to make way for the 200,000-square-foot center. It will be a place students can meet, relax, study and eat. Construction is expected to begin toward the end of 2009. The project is expected to be finished in 2013. Initial design ideas for the facility include a 600-seat theater space, group meeting space, retail and dining areas, as well as minimal room for some administrative offices. The architect is WTW Architects.
