Judges say challenge is moot because Roy Roberts has been reappointed district emergency manager

From The Detroit News: The Michigan Supreme Court has denied an appeal challenging the legality of the appointment of Roy Roberts, emergency manager for Detroit Public Schools. Robert Davis, an activist and Highland Park School Board member, filed a lawsuit last year contending that Roberts violated the state constitution by not taking an oath until four months after taking the job. The Supreme Court says the claim was moot because Roberts was reappointed to serve another year in the same capacity and took the oath on April 2.

MARCH 2012... From WWJ Radio: Detroit Public Schools emergency manager Roy Roberts has agreed to stay in the job for another year. Roberts told WWJ CityBeat Reporter Vickie Thomas that he just signed a contract for another year.
