Middle school nears completion in Newton-Conover City (N.C.) district

Building has been designed to receive LEED platinum rating

From The Hickory Record: The Newton-Conover City (N.C.) district is completing construction of Newton-Conover Middle School. The school has been designed to achieve platinum certification. The three-story structure includes large windows in every hallway, stairwell and classroom; lighting with sensors that turns on when there is not enough light from the outside; low water fixtures in bathrooms and two large fields of solar panels on the roof.
