Missouri wants to shut down academically troubled Wellston district

From The St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Missouri's education chief is aiming to close the academically troubled Wellston School District at the end of this summer, the state department of education says. Wellston students would be absorbed by the neighboring Normandy School District, according to a proposal education Commissioner Chris L. Nicastro is scheduled to bring to the state board on Dec. 17.
