Project would be built on Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Mass.

From The Boston Globe: The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is proposing to build a $450 million research facility at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Mass. The project would enhance the value of the base, where weapons and other defense research is conducted, at a time when state officials worry Hanscom could be a victim in a new round of cost-saving base closures. The research facility, to be run by MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory, would design small electronic components for use in emerging aerospace, communications, and missile technologies.
