Mold and asbestos problems raise community concerns

School Board is weighing the closure of its sole middle school. Voters last month rejected a $34 million bond to replace the building, and concerns about possible mold and asbestos within the school's 60-year-old building have led some community members to advocate sending the school's sixth graders to the district's elementary schools, while seventh- and eighth- graders attend classes at the recently rebuilt Molalla High School.
