Board votes to go forward with plan, but funding is not yet in place

From The Washington Post: The Montgomery County (Md.) Board of Education has voted to go forward with plans for a new middle school in the Chevy Chase area to help relieve crowding. The board also will study how to improve services at the area's crowded elementary schools.

EARLIER...from The Washington Post: Montgomery County (Md.) School Superintendent Jerry D. Weast has recommended building a new middle school in the area around Bethesda and Chevy Chase to relieve crowding. If the school is built, sixth-graders at Chevy Chase and North Chevy Chase elementary schools would be moved to the new middle school. Those are the only two elementary schools in the district that still accommodate sixth grade. Elsewhere in the district, that grade level is part of middle school.
